Fun weather craft – theatre for your kids

You want to learn more about the weather with your kids but in a fun way? I’ve got you covered my friends. Today we are making a free weather craft – a theatre. You can use the weather “plates” to play theatre. Invent your own play or just play that you are the wind, the sun etc. If you don’t want to read the blog post but watch a video tutorial instead, just scroll down to the bottom of the post and you will find it there.

How to make a free weather craft – a theatre for kids

Let’s start with making this cool weather craft. First off, let’s check what you need: a scissor, glue, eight paper plates, eight sticks and strong tape. You can collect the sticks outside, make sure that they are approximately as long as the arm of your kiddo.

Now print the template and cut out the round shapes with the weather symbols in it. Next, glue the cutted shapes onto the white paper plates. Be careful with the edges, re-glue if necessary. White paper plates work best, but if you have other ones left, just use those ones instead.

The next step is to tape the sticks to the back of your paper plates. And that’s it already – just a few steps and you’ve got your mini weather theatre ready.

Now you can play with it by holding it in front of your faces and pretending to be the sun, wind etc. You can even make a little play out of it. Our little one was so proud of his play that he invited us to see it, too. Make a nice little event out of it.

A little side note about my illustrations

I make weekly crafts for you and your kiddos to make. They are completely free because I think free printables make the world a better place. On top of it I also draw all of the illustrations myself. It really calms me down and every time I do it I get into the flow.

Every month I choose a new topic and write about it. This month it is woodland animals. I saw that you loved the woodland content so much I prepared a few cool crafts for you. Stay tuned and make them all.

At the end of the year my goal is to make different units for the different topics. You can download all for free and use it to entertain and make fun stuff with your little ones.
