How to make the funny woodland cootie catcher

Did you download the template with the free woodland cootie catcher? And already printed it, too? Okay, then let’s get started and make this cool craft.

All you need is the printed template, scissors, glue and thick letter-sized paper (any color is fine, you can make it without the thick paper and glue, too).

First of all glue the template to the thick paper. You can skip this step if you don’t want a really sturdy cootie catcher.

Second, fold the paper as shown in the instruction manual. I’ve included it for you so you can easily make the cootie catcher. Place the cut out template with the white side up and start folding.

Fold the bottom of the paper to the side of the page to make a triangle. Fold one corner of the paper diagonally to the other corner. Fold each corner of the paper towards the center. Turn the paper over so that the folded sides are face down. Then fold all the corners to the center diagonally. Unfold the paper and fold the square in half horizontally. Fold the square in half and slip your thumbs and pointer finger under the four flaps.

Now you are ready to play. Flip the cootie catcher. Then your kiddo needs to shout stop and choose between the two numbers shown. Older kids can even read the numbers themselves. Read the question to your kid and let them answer it. Have fun playing this cool game.

Some infos on my cute little crafts

I make weekly crafts for you and your kiddos to make. They are completely free because I think free printables make the world a better place. On top of it I also draw all of the illustrations myself. It really calms me down and every time I do it I get into the flow. This month I am concentrating on woodland animals and woodland animal crafts for preschoolers.

Every month I choose a new topic and write about it. This month it is woodland animals. I saw that you loved the woodland content so much I prepared a few cool crafts for you. Stay tuned and make them all.

At the end of the year my goal is to make different units for the different topics. You can download all for free and use it to entertain and make fun stuff with your little ones.
